TravelCom 2010 is pleased to announce our 2010 Innovators of the Year. The TravelCom Innovator of the Year Award is granted each year to a company or organization who has proven to be a leader through innovative, exciting and cutting-edge marketing campaigns within the technology, eCommerce, distribution, global corporate social responsibility and social media arenas. The TravelCom Innovator of the Year Award provides us the special opportunity to recognize an industry leader who has not only impacted but inspired industries and markets across the globe. Social marketing is a key component to online marketing and at TravelCom 2010 we wanted to highlight successful implementation of social marketing strategies in 2009. While there are a number of social marketing implementation strategies, we can not forget the importance of User Generated Content (UGC). While many companies and organizations have focused on how to implement UGC into their online efforts we have observed that integrating brand ambassadors has provided successful campaigns results. This year our committee reviewed social marketing campaigns that embraced brand ambassadors. After careful examination we selected two organizations, one from the travel industry and one from outside the industry that implemented successful social marketing campaigns.
